Why don't you ride the bike to Sturgis? Sounds like you need the practice...

HD uses PPG paints. I pretty sure it is still the Deltron series. Go to a local PPG paint supplier and ask them to get the color code for your model year and color. They can get the code with a phone call and mix the paint on the spot. This stuff is not inexpensive! Be very nice when you go in and tell them your story. Ask them to print the spec sheet and you will always have it when you need it. In 2006 I wanted to get paint for my '05 RG. It did take two days for the code to come back from PPG but it was spot on! I painted a tourpak and lowers for my RG

Gonna call Bulls**t on this post. He's a painter and hasn't a clue as what to do ?
Plus he can't even hit the spell check button for Sturgis!

Nothing wrong with some California Suede. No one will really care, and you will have a story to tell if they ask.

Trailer? What is this thing you call a "trailer"?

Our local Dupont dealer says he now has the paint codes for the factory paints. I dented my front fender callled the paint dealers here in Reno and the one that handles Dupoint says he has the codes. Give that a try and hope that helps.

Damn if you have a dealer who can get you paint in 5 to 7 days that must be one good dealer. When my bike got hit and the tank needed paint they told me it would be at least a month. I said no thanks and got the custom paint done. But it still took the shop 3 weeks just to replace the front wheel.
