Runaround with Hales HD Service Dept. in Mansfield, Ohio

Am I reading this right? The OP has a 2009 model bike that should be under warranty. He has picked up a vibration and you guys think he should be responsible for repair cost? So what if it is just a wheel weight it is still causing a vibration, if it was a bearing should he be responsible too? I'm with the OP on this one.

You should really find out what a product does before you go forward. If you use dynabeads you don't use weights. In 10 minutes you can pour the beads through the valve stem. Your done & no ugly weights. BTW, mine flew off in the first 500 miles on the 09. In went the beads. No ugly weights.

Ok I see where everyone is coming from on my OP. I just figured the dealership would say bring the bike in and we will take care of it for you at no charge since its just a wheel weight.
But some of you guys are telling me that these stick on weights are not meant to last! Come one! I have used stick on weights on my 2002 R1 that runs 9 sec quarter mile and never had a problem with them.
I guess my final opinion on this is that the dealership had to warranty my tire from the D407 to the D408 and tried to rush the swap to save them money.
I have been around tires and there is usually a factory balancing dot on the sidewall of the tire that you should line up with the valve stem to reduce the extra amount of additional weight for balancing.
The dot on my tire is about 6 inches away from the valve stem.
The main point of my OP was to see if anyone else every got the runaround with this particular dealership.
My bike also has a $3600 California Kid paint job that the clear coat started cracking and breaking off around the windshield screws. I told and showed Hales about this and they said they have been experiencing problems with the other bikes that they had the same paint done on and left it at that. Now why wouldn't someone look into a clear coat issue on a $3600 paint job.

Has anyone else had bad experience with their service department?
I bought my 2009 SG through them last July 31st. I have been completely satisfied with the bike other than the D407 front tire recall, which was not their fault.
So I get my front tire replaced last year with around 5700 miles on the bike. I now have 10400 and noticed the the wheel weights have fallen off and I'm getting some heavy vibration at 60mph plus.
So I call the service department today and explain that they changed out a tire for me about 5000 miles ago and the wheel weights had fallen off.
I was told that I would have to pay for a re-balance and labor for removing the wheel. Hell I can remove the wheel myself and take it into the shop. But how be damned if I am going to pay them to re-balance my tire.
Just wanted to vent a little on this glorious Monday morning. Anyone else had a run around with Hales service department?

If the dealership wanted to make you a loyal customer they would spend the 10 minutes rebalancing the tire for you. Hard to say it's their fault after 5,000 miles but then again in times like these that's a mighty cheap way to ensure future business. Think about how much advertising they'll have to do and sales commisions thay'll have to pay to replace a customer who's spent more than $20,000 like you.
