Default Kidney Belts

I know only one HD rider that wears a kidney belt and he swears by it. Wondering if there really is a noticeable benefit from wearing one?

Like a most others here, i spend a lot of hours on the bike on weekends as well as my daily commute during the week, looking to get honest opinions on the benefits of a belt on longer trips. TIA!

Depends upon the bike and the distance traveled. My kidneys felt beat up after 250 miles on a Honda 750, even while younger...40 or so. Used a kidney belt on the Honda after awhile...it helped a whole lot. Harley softail, no problem 66+.

I've never known anyone that used them outside of the Motocross/Off-road world. There have been some days of being on the bike 8+ hours that i wished i had one though.

I use one if I'm going to be on the bike for more than a couple of hours. I find it helps my lower back.

Most of the people I've seen wearing them are plainly using them like a male girdle...to hold their massive guts in like a bustier (their big blubber appendage keeps wobbling around scratching the top of their gas tanks).

Hell, throw on some silver conches and studs, and I'm surprised the ridiculous things aren't being sold on the men's side of every HD boutique.

LOL.

I used one when I had my rigid. But no need on today's bikes.

And if you have a bad back and are using one for that your not helping yourself. Doing exercises and strengthening your core muscles will be more effective. Stronger erector muscles help support the spine and eliviate a lot of issues usually brought on by being overweight or just complacent.

Now you're telling me I need to work on my 'erection' muscles.

Been working on them my whole life, and I STILL have a beer gut.
