Interesting first post....follow a Google search in for your spam?
I think, 6 years after the OP made this post, he probably found a bike now. Just sayin'...

Try learning how to use a comma and a period BTW!

I've never had any issues with Sportsters. Those engines are probably the most reliable the MoCo makes.

There isn't much a BT can do that a Sporty can't.

Scored this 03 883R with SE intake and SEII exhaust. The owner had just had it detailed, new drive belt, carb rebuilt and rejetted for the intake and exhaust set up, new tires and a full detail. He had a receipt for the $1600 dealer cost. That was a couple years back. Paid him $3,500. It was pristine.

Just keep trolling Craigslist and the local paper and have cash ready to buy as soon as you see a deal. I bought a 07 Softail Standard for 5 grand this past December with 17ooo miles. I've had a bunch of stuff chromed and did some work on it since then. Here's a pic.

I picked up this 2003 Xl1200S with a whole bunch of extras for $2800. Brand new tires, brand new battery and dealer service. Detachable windshield, two up seat, fork lock locking gas cap, HD ratcheting tie down straps, Brand new leather jacket, brand new fork bag, two sets of mirrors, one set black one set chrome, the original slip ons. If you know what you want, keep an eye on craigslist. I almost walked with a 2008 883 for $3000. Guy would not budge from $3200, I would not go over $3000. I'm glad we could not come to a deal otherwise I would have missed out on the 2003.

I'd start looking on Craigslist, local classifieds, or eBay. As long as the OP can read/write the world is your oyster. Now get out and start looking.

That "similar thread" box at the bottom of the page has snagged me a couple of times before I learned to watch the dates...

You're going to be in for a rude awakening when you realize what people are really willing to pay for that bike. The fact that the 1100cc was only made for 2 years doesn't add value, it decreases value due to lack of stock parts availability. I've actually seen them listed in the low $2k range many times, and that's just the asking prices

Good luck with that.
