I'm not sure where you guy's live but there's late model $4-5000 sporties around here by the dozen.

 

I bought an '03 Electra Glide Ultra Classic when it was less than ten years old for $7,000. It was very high mileage, but it was very well maintained. I'm still riding it and haven't had a problem.

I just re-read my response. I guess $7000 is more than $5000. Never mind.

 

There are always deals to be had if your patient

It's harder in the spring when everyone wants to ride, easier in the fall when folk start worrying about where to keep it

I picked up a dyna wide glide for 4K at the end of last year.. It was 11 years old with 14k miles but it was mint

All I did was change the bars and riser and done
