Sporty's... But U really already knew that...
IMO there not the bike to learn on...top heavy.. theres plenty of other threads on first bike to learn on.. I personally know 2 friends who bought there wifes them to learn on and they both hated them..
Most just say buy a used (small HonSukYammy) twin and sell it when shes ready for a Dyna/Softail/ something.

OK, so this bike would be at least 50% for me, Id like to have a small bike thats a bit more tossable to take out sometimes. And I do want to get the wife on a bike, she likes the speed on her jet ski. I had looked at some ads for sporty's locally a few months back and most wer $6500-9000, maybe prices are getting more realistic?
Id love to have an 883 Iron, but think they are closer to $9k. My first HD (3rd bike) was a 2005 1200R, I kind of miss it. And I guess if I were to add a Sporty Id want a 2004 or newer, Id like a rubber mounted engine. How are VRod prices? Were there any Buell's that didnt have the horrible race bike seating position?
FLHXKiller, can you PM me some more info on your Sporty?

Is there such thing as a "late model" (less than 10 years old) that can be had for under $5000 in great shape? What about in the $3 - 5000 range? Im thinking of maybe a 2nd bike or something to hopefully get the wife to learn to ride on and I want to be able to pay cash. None of the Japanese bikes do anything for me except some fo the sport type bikes but dont know that I see the wife on something like that and my back wouldnt be great all hunched over.
