Default best time to buy new?

well, i'm in the market to purchase new bike and was wondering with the new models coming out shortly, when would it be a good time to buy a 2010 model? should i wait until the 2011 models are on the floor?

I got an email the other day that said one dealer near me was offering 1% financing on remaining 08 and 09 models.

Days after I bought my 07, the 08 model was out at a reduced msrp. Just an fyi. Not sure that would happen again, but who knows? I did get a very good finance rate however.

Cheers,

Tom

wait, you won't get reduced pricing before the '11's are out.

I have always heard that you should buy during the winter months. Don't have a clue if it's accurate but it does make since. I know with trucks if you try and get a 4wheel drive in the winter it's higher, same with ragtop cars if you buy in summer.

Wait for the 2011's. Get a 103" motor.

It depends on where your located, and the amount of bikes they have in stock.
Remember, not all dealers are hurting for business.

2010 models are no longer shipping, so what the dealers have now is all they are going to get.
Some dealers have a large selection to choose from, and others are rather limited.

Supply and demand still drives the price of bikes.
Dealers that have demand (and quite a few of them still do, contrary to what some think) will be the least likely to discount prices.

You'll also be more apt to find a "deal" if your willing to shop around. You might have to travel a few hundred miles to find one.

Quite a few dealers will start the discounting the price on 2010 models, once the the 2011's hit the floor.

Once the new bikes are on the floor, but the longer you wait the less choice you have. I waited when I traded my 03 for the 07 till they only had three bikes on the floor left that I liked. Pulled the trigger then $1K under MSRP.
