interesting because two dealerships i went in about a month ago they wouldn't come down one cent on any used bike i was interested in.

i visited one of them today, same bike sitting there, same ridiculous price on the tag.

 

I hit up the Modesto store and picked up a little chrome with the gift certificate I won for best Dyna/Fxr. A lot of Jamestown HOG guys there putting on the car/bike show.

When I bought my E.G. , the saleman automatically dropped his guard and took $2500 off the price, which of course started the price war.

At my local dealer I get an automatic 10% off of anything. Why? I don't know other than they are used to me coming there. At least once every two months or so they go up to 15% off of any parts and accessories, even special orders. Once they even did 20% but it excluded Screamin' Eagle parts. 30% would be crazy! What is great about this dealer is that on top of the regular discounts, their prices on parts and accessories tend to be on the lower side of the spectrum. For example; they sell a quart of Syn 3 for around $9 without any discounts. The BIG NAME dealer across town sells the same quart of oil for $11.

I actually bought my bike for a number of reasons from said BIG NAME dealer but other than that, I almost never go in there. Their prices are generally higher and they never offer discounts. Last weekend I wanted to use up a $100 gift card I got from a friend for the BIG NAME store to order some parts. I asked them if I got a discount for buying my bike there. They said no. I asked them if they would price match. They said no. Sensing my displeasure I was asked what prices was I quoted. I stated that the "little guy" across town was offering 15% that weekend. They finally said "No way to 15. But we can do 10." I figured I'd take it since it would probably be the only chance I would get to use up that gift card for their store and get my stuff at some discounted rate.
