Blow bye and Popping

I am sure it could be if enough of the oil is getting sucked into the fuel mixture. There are a few articles floating around the net about this.

I would say that compression is getting past your rings & over pressuring your crank case. the popping might be exhaust gasses coming out your carb because your exhaust valve is not opening on one cylinder.
Just a hunch!!

By design, the breathers are vented back into the throttle body. You could take a look at the Doherty MystFree product. Addresses that situation.
Popping is usually caused by unburned fuel hitting the exhaust pipe where it is igniting. Getting your bike tuned will usually get rid of that symptom. If you have a product like Mastertune TTS you can tune that pop out yourself. I also believe there is an option in the SERT software that will allow you to tune the decel pop out.
I have a pcIII and had my bike tuned recently. The tuner was not able to tune the pop out. He tried several different settings. It doesn't bother me so I'm not stressing about it.
