Hows Your 2010 Bagger Handling the Heat Wave
This is for 2010 Touring only, "Catalytic Converter in the headpipe". This is for engine temps and problems not so much for rider discomfort, "all air cooled engines are hot to sit on in a heat wave". Not a bash Harley Thread, I own a 2010 Touring and it is doing just fine now that I have made some modifications.
2010 was the first year for the Cats in the headpipe for all the touring models,"2010 EPA Standards got tough to meet without them"
This is the first summer, first real test for the 2010 Harley Touring Bikes. Just honest feedback to see how they are holding up and performing as compared to other model years.

The heat doesn't seem to bother mine. I rode 250 miles yesterday, high temp here was 101 degrees.
Cats in the headpipes aren't new this year. They are just new for all touring models, CA has had them since 2009.

I came from a goldwing two months ago to a 2010 ultra and the heat hasn't been an issue for me. It is warmer than the wing but the ride is well worth it. Only other issue are the shocks holding pressure more than a week or two

2010 Ultra with 10k,no issues.I haven't noticed any heat problems I've read about here,no hotter that the 05 RKC I had before. My only disapiontment was the seat which I replaced soon after I got it.

It's hot here all the time. I avoid stop and go traffic if I can. I don't have an oil temp gauge, but it still seems to be ok. No heavy loping that I've experienced on other bikes that are close to over heating. Yeah, my *** is hot, but that's to be expected. I'm also using the heat management system (cutting off the back cylinder at extended stop lights), seems to work ok.
My plan is simple - synthetic, stage 1, oil cooler, in that order. And that'll be it.

No engine/performance issues so far, although I can probably make smores at the stop lights if I wanted.
I have to imagine it's going to be hot sitting atop any bike while in traffic, when the outside temps are 90+. I seem to recall being hot when idling on my 98 RKC and 96 Sportster.
