Default Streetglide 06 vs 07

I have the oppertunity to purchase either a 06, or 07 Streetglide. I have heard that the extra cu. in. and six speed only compinsates for all the emissions that drag this engine down.I am leaning towards the 06, anyone have some thoughts. thanks roid

Well are you gonna save some bucks on the 06? I recently bought my 06 roadking, just before they released those new 96" motors with six speeds. I'm very happy with my purchase, if i want more power (which I will) it doesnt cost much for a big bore kit. Good luck on the bike choice!!!!!!!!!!! I have heard that there is a little more power to be had with the new motor, tough choice you got. Agian, good luck.

Looks like there might be some tranny problems with the 07. Look back in the different forums like general hd chat, touring, transmision. Seems like in one thread the moco was giving a new tranny and told the dealer not to look into it. I wonder if there is a problem why HD would put bikes on the road when someone could get hurt because of mechanical faliure. Check out fifth gear noise in this section.

Only metric-riding-Harley-haters can make these new features into something negative. More cubic inches. More power. All EFI. Easier path to the 103". The O² sensors make for a more efficient motor. Everything about the new six speed is better than the old five. That and I'm in love with the new denim colors on the SG.

I think it also depends on your riding style.

I ride with quite a few guys who don't like to ride above 70-75 mph. In that case the 88TC five speed is fine.

On the other hand if you like to cruise at 80-90 for hours on end go for the 07.

I have a 06 SG and a true overdrive six speed. I would still have a 04 bagger if it was not for the SG, had a HD moment and bought one of the first out. If you like the SG you will love riding one.

Why would you get an 06 when you can get an 07? If it is not at least $5000 cheaper, get the 07. Anything negative you hear about the 07 is sour grapes. The 06 is fine but the 07 is finer.
