Default Buying a bike for father in law

Ok, here goes. My wife's uncle (mom's brother) died a few years back before I met her. Anyways at that time he left his Sportster to my wifes Father and mother. They had to sell the Sporty to help pay for the funeral, but they sold it to a friend of the family, well this weekend the wife and I were at a local bike show and we saw the family friend, my wife asked him if he still had the bike and he said yes to our amazment. It turns out that he bought it and just parked it. To make a longer story short my father in law doesn't really have the money for a bike but he's been saying forever that he wanted one,The family friend is willing to let us buy the Sporty for him and let him get it going again. I think that seeing that bike and being able to own it again would be really special, Besides I know that my wifes uncle would be looking down smiling on us. Thanks for listening, It's strange how things work out sometimes.

That just sounds like it was meant to be. That's completely awesome that the family friend bought it even though he wasn't going to use it (you said he just parked it, right?). Thanks for sharing, T.

Yeah Stones, he bought it just to basically help out is what it sounds like, like I said this all happened before I met my wife but when she told me about all this I was totally into it.

Sounds like a great project bike for you and your father. Sure it's going to take a little work and money, but hey I wish I had a dad to do something like this with. I think he and yourself will have a blast and the complete circle of the bike history is great conversation at the bike events.

Good Luck, keep us posted
