I have read several times in the past if an HD rider couldn't have a HD then he would pick:
Triumph
Moto Guzzi
BMW
Ducati
I think you stole my list!! I might flip the order a little. And would take anything on the list as a 2nd or 3rd bike if funds allowed.

I have never seen this forum agree on anything as much as we agree on Triumph's, go figure. I think we feel similar on Duc's as well.

The Rocket wouldn't even make my list. It's just way too fugly.
There are lots of bikes out there with get up and go if that's what I wanted.

I personally like my 750 twin. But as you say (Lucas the inventor of darkness) The new don't have the look. I have always received the nod from and usually a chat when I ride it.

Did you know that is why the Brits like warm beer, Lucas also made refrigerators.

Wow, twisted springer, K-Q seat, six-bend pullbacks, rectangular headlight, hardtail, peanut tank...a real 1970's chop. I do like the TT pipes...

I had a similar one years ago, the sissybar was quite a bit higher though, lol.
It was a rat, but it could haul *** for a 650 cc bike with asoup can carb (monoblock).
has twin carbs also its a 750 got to love it
Mine was a '65 TR6, (single carb) 650. 4" stretch Santee hardtail, 6"-over Triumph forks, seat height right at 20". No front fender, bobbed rear. When I bought it, it was painted leopard-skin!
Took a couple cans of flat-black to fix that. If I remember correctly, it weighed in under 300 lbs.
Good thing, too, considering no front brake, and Triumph's infamous drum-and-shoes on the rear. No tailgating on that bike, lol. I used to ride with a guy who had a Kawasomething 750, he was surprised I could keep up. That bike was a ton of fun.
