ORIGINAL: Purple Thunder

I personally like my 750 twin. But as you say (Lucas the inventor of darkness) The new don't have the look. I have always received the nod from and usually a chat when I ride it.

Wow, twisted springer, K-Q seat, six-bend pullbacks, rectangular headlight, hardtail, peanut tank...a real 1970's chop. I do like the TT pipes...

I had a similar one years ago, the sissybar was quite a bit higher though, lol.
It was a rat, but it could haul *** for a 650 cc bike with asoup can carb (monoblock).

I have owned a 1960s single carb 650 (chopped), a 2003 Speedmaster and still own a Bonneville T100. All good bikes. After test riding the Rocket III for about twenty miles, freeway and some curves, I would have to say it is a rush. Now the qualifier. Nothing feels as good on the road as my 2007 Street Bob.

The Rocket III is not my cup of tea. Too one dimensional like the Boss Hoss. All they are good for is going in a straight line quickly. Strictlybike night cruisers.

I like the Tiger, a dual purpose bike good in the twisties and capable of some decent dirt road action.

Thiswas my Triumph Legend a couple of years ago. It was a great bike, I would have kept it along side the Harley if I had the room.

This is me on a Triton, ( Triumph 650 engine in a Norton featherbed frame),about 30 years ago. My mate still has this bike.

I'm in the process of selling my Triumph Speedmaster. While it was a cool bike and fun to ride the build quality was very poor. I get the impression that mine may have been worse than normal. In less than two years it's on its third gas tank due to the liner flaking.

I wouldn't mind picking up a used 675 in a couple of years for a track bike.

I sold my 1998 Thunderbird Sport to buy my Dyna..I really liked it and it was plenty fast enough, but the nearest dealer for Triumph was 100 miles away and there are only 4 in the whole state..very cool bike for $8,000.00 would have kept it but with my back injury It was to choppy of a ride, but very fun in the twistys.

In the 70's when I first got interested it was BSA, Triumph & Norton. I look at them now and they seem so small. Never thought I'd be driving what I do now and wanting something bigger.
When Norton went to the 850 we thought it didn't get any better!!

I like Triumph and would consider the Rocket III but not at the cost of giving up my HD.

I am a fan of Triumphs, both old and new. My first motorcycle experience was in the early 70’s, when my cousin rode up on a Triumph Chopper, it was the coolest thing in the world. He took me for my first ride.

I still own a 67 Triumph Daytona Super Sports. It needs some work but shares space in the garage with my Bagger.

Triumph don’t try to copy other brands looks or sounds (unlike other makes) The new Triumphs pay tribute to the old models, much like Harleys do.

If I was to get a new bike and I wasn’t allowed to pick another Harley I would likely pick a Triumph.
