HOKA HEY Winners announced!

ALL the speculation is just doing more damage, but there really seems to be not much credible information from anyone In the Hoka Hey camp to silence the critics.
The outstanding accomplishments of the finishers are worthy of TOTAL respect for what they endured on the road; phisically, emotionally, and spritiually.

I don't think idiot would be the word to use... should have been run like the Baja... release the riders in stages... run the same course, same checkpoints and verify everything. Poorly done I believe but I wasn't there so I can't say and only from what I have read or seen on the net do I come to that conclusion. Seems someone wanted to line thier pockets at the expense of a few.... cost a couple their lives!
Only an idiot would have partook in such an event!
WOW YOU REALLY SAID THAT?? OUTLOUD.........
I don't think quite a broad statement as that can cover EVERYONE who entered!
I beileve probably 90% of the riders who rode in this "Challenge" did it for purely the RIDE!! I'm sure some were IN IT TO WIN IT, and actually trained and conditioned themselves but a small percentage. Most did it for the expierence and to challenge themselves.
IF (BIG IF) someone runs something like this next year they should have different classes of riders like our Alaskan Iron Dog smowmachine race. Pro class and recreational class. They could have the TRUE competitors running one route with all the challenging maps and checkpoints and the "riders" in it for the ride take another route more direct and NOT so time constrained.

I followed the ride with the guys from Chesters HD in Arizona. On the website they had a log of the trip on a daily basis, although they didn't win, they had one hell of a trip. Good reading though and the exhaustion was real.
