I wear a heavy leather motorcycle jacket in the winter and a tee shirt in the summer.

When its cold I wear my Harley brand leather ( looks like an old Brooks ) other than that a t shirt or hoodie. My leather has no liner, if its that cold I wear a hoodie under it.

I have a Tourmaster Flex jacket. Its mesh w/armor for summer and has a zip on outer shell when it gets cool, and zip-in insulation when it gets cold. Until I got the mesh jacket I wore t-shirts in the Summer. If you are on the highway the mesh is actually cooler than a T. Around town I still go with a T though as the jacket gets toasty at all the red lights.

I have a black leather FMC coat with a zip out liner. Liner in and a hoodie keeps me warm on colder days and the liner comes out on hot days. Started out a nice black but the miles and bugs have begun to age it and give it some character. I wear it all the time unless the temp is up in the 100° range or if it is just too warm for comfort.

For me a jacket should have lots of pockets with zippers for garage door opener, cell phone, small camera, breath mints and a couple of wet wipes. Should also have a place for a pen and gas pump receipts. I usually have a vest on over the coat with a large inner pocket for CCW and more pockets. In event of a get off I'd rather scrape up leather than the skin on my arms.

Joe Rocket Phoenix 5.0 mesh in hot weather, Fox Creek Commander or H-D FXRG textile in colder weather. The FXRG is better than the leather in cold wet weather, IMO, because it's completely waterproof.

Having been down @ 55mph I wear leather. My main jacket is a very heavy hide (6-3/4#), elbow & shoulder foam pads, vented front & back, very long-waisted w/ extra-long sleeves & zip-up cuffs. For extremely hot weather I wear a very lightweight leather jacket with a short waist; vents & cuffs the same.
