Didn't really plan it... never really thought it... but I'm going to Sturgis.

Couple guys at work were planning to go again this year. Their first trip was last year... 18 of 'em went in one wad. This year only the two of them was "in". Their reservations made, they were getting all pumped...

Then about three weeks ago Friend #2 took a fall on his '08 Street Glide and it's down for the count. In fact, it shook him so bad he's going to sell it.

Anyway... Friend #1 is all down in the dumps 'cause he's not really a "loner" and didn't want to go alone. (He really enjoyed his Sturgis adventure last year.)

Sooo... he asks if I want to go. Then Friend #2 sweetens the deal by giving me his paid-for room reservations. Well... I'm going!

Last year it was a 2800 mile round trip from eastern OK to NM and AZ and back... this year it's Sturgis!

Wild.

Now... I've GOT to figure out just WHICH doo-rags to pack, what HD stuff to wear.... hmmm... I wonder if those new HD chaps will make my butt look too big? Decisions, decisions.

 

So you have a big asz, go and have a blast and don't worry about your looks till you get back.

First time for me this year too. 1800 mile rount trip from WI

 

Had a similar experience for the 50th...didn't know I was going until two days before leaving. No reservations or plans. Just packed the saddlebags, threw a sleeping bag on the bobtail, and off I went. You will have a blast at the 70th!

 

Have a great ride. I have got to make it up there one of these years.

Third year in a row for me. It's all about the ride, but Sturgis is a sight to behold. The Holy Grail of Motocycle Kingdom. Mecca for Harley's. The 70th is going to be great.
