anyone ever went to school at motorcycle mechanics institute? I talked to a tech at the local harley shop and they say they mostly hire from there, but then again some guys just start from the bottom waxing and doing oil changes. Figured i'd use my GI Bill to take the Old+New model HD courses and try to get on at one of the dealerships or atleast to some word of mouth work on my own, or at very least save me a assload of labor $.

The school is terribly expensive and the pay is really low after you get done with school. If you really want to do it got ahead, just know what you're getting into. If the cost of the school is the only thing you don't like, there is a much cheaper school in east Kansas and you actually get a two year degree from it instead of a certificate. With the degree, you can always continue your education later on if you choose and you will already have an associates degree. Here's a link.

MMI is a waste of time IMO. I'd rather start from the bottom and train with a good tech. Techs make **** pay anyway.

MMI is a diploma mill. Most grads are not in the industry after 15 months. Save your money and get in a dealership as a hydro-tech or a step and fetch. If you have talent and ability the dealer will school you. It is not easy but if your heart is in it you can do it.

The school itself is fine you will learn a lot if you know nothing. It isnt worth the money though way to expensive.
If they had a corporate hd store it would probably be a good place to work other wise stay far away from hd dealers, unless you like getting ****ed.
