Finally Went Down

Finally Went Down
Riding all day Sunday, almost 6 hours. Fatigued, so I headed home.
As I pulled up to a stop light with no one in front of me, and after downshifting to just a few miles an hour, I hit the brakes with a decidedly wrong bias. I put the fronts on all too quickly while barely touching the rears. The front locked, the bike went right, I went left, hitting the ground face first. That was the last thing I remember till I woke up in an emergecy room, cusing everyone out. I eventually calmed down after about ten minutes.
As for me, I've got a mild concussion, fractuered cheek bone, and liberal sprinkling of road rash. No police report and zero BAC to follow up on.
So I'm chilllin' for the next few days and putting lotsa Neosporin and aloe on my rash. Won't have time for a follow up with the doctor before I head back to the rig.
The bike has suffered only minor damage. Just chrome bolt on stuff that I can do myself when I get back home next month. No paint or mecahnical parts damage.
And after screwing my head up like this, I'll also be wearing a full face helmet from now on. It may not look cool, but it certainly looks cooler (and feels better) than the "Terminator" rash look I'm wearin' right now.
Cheers!

Hey, dont be afraid about that helmet thing. Just glad your still able to wear one. They do look stupid wearing them in a casket, they dont help much there either

Glad to hear your ok. I wear the fullface on the highway going to work but I don't wear one when cruising to the store or just riding into town. (not very smart on my part)
Hope the rash heals quickly!

There must have been some oil on the road. Using the front brake at low speed coming to a straight stop wouldn't cause the bike to go sideways, not like locking up the rear would.
