I was afraid to say the same thing. My deductable is only $50 and I pay $30 a month for coverage.

I don't understand why they don't make forward footrests so they "fold up" like passenger pegs. That way if you get to that point in a situation like the OPs you won't lift the back wheel. I'll bet he still had plenty of tire left when the peg blew him out . . .

Sorry to hear you laid it down but glad you are OK. Walking away is a great thing. Bikes can be rebuilt.

glad you were able to walk away from that one. you can get the bike fixed, but it's a little more difficult to fix you.

no offense intended, but you ride a sportster. there is a huge difference when you go to a big twin. i was paying about $150 a year when i had my sporty, went up to $300 when i got my road king in 07, and again to $600 when i picked up the roadglide. always maintained a $250 deductible.

Glad to hear your ok. I high sided once a long time ago when my breaks locked up. Old Honda 350. I survived, going about 35 miles per hour.

70K that's good, I got mine out of the way in the first 5K. Glad you came through it alright. Hope you never experience it again.

Glad you're OK. I've been down @ 55mph; it's a giant beltsander! Would be interested to know what riding gear you wore which worked/didn't work. I'm sure you walked away with some valuable lessons.

I read that over several times now and am still confused. I understand that the forward controls dug into the pavement and popped you over but how exactly did you get to that point? Did you try downshifting to a third gear?

Glad you are OK.
