The driver of the van survived, right? I wonder if they'll fess up about the truth.

From this breif article, I would guess the van got in front of the bikes, and none of them could slow in time. If you were second in formation andsaw a van in front of you, wouldn't you still slow down even if the first bike did not see it? I find it hard to beleive 3 bike did not see the van. It sounds more likely the van did not see the bikes.

You combine a taxi driver and a mini-van and that's pretty much proof beyond reasonable doubt as to who was at fault.

They were travelling in opposite directions. The van crossed the center line and plowed into the group of bikes. According to a passenger in the van, just prior to the crash the van had been going between 90-100mph. If that was the case, the bikers' reaction time would have been damn near zero.

I like these new facts. Earlier in the thread it was implied by a few to be the bikes fault. If someone crosses the line and comes head on at me, I know it wouldn't be my fault.

Is what you'd be unfortunately. Yes, from the map pic it was one of hundreds of weird intersections in good ole PA. The van was ( maybe) turning left or at high speed out of control veered into the oncoming lane at the "Y" which brought him head on into the bike cluster. Clusters are only good for one thing and it ain't bikin'.
