Snake what is the best food in the Shreveport area?
I think all my favorite places to eat in Shreveport are Mexican food, but to keep it simple, if you swing by the casinos in downtown Shreveport, there is a Mexican restaurant called Nicky's under the Texas St. bridge, or The Blind Tiger (good bar and serves a variety of good food) also at the foot of the bridge. Across the river in Bossier at the Boardwalk (you'll see the Bass Pro Shops), Saltgrass steakhouse is pretty good, and of course there's a Hooters next to it. Naturally, you could also eat at any of the casinos. I think Horseshoe is the best if you're into that sort of thing.
Also consider Lasyone's restaurant in Natchitoches (about 60 miles south of Shreveport), famous for meat pies and red beans & rice.

Make sure your insurance is paid up and in order. They steal anything and everthing down there. Plus like stated before watch your back while there, it is like a madhouse with crime.
