Hit a deer

Thank god you're alright. Look at it this way, that's one less deer to grow up and take out another rider who may not be so lucky....
Two years ago my brother and I, along witht he wives were riding home from a stop at our uncles place in Eagle River, WI. Travelling through the woods about 11 am, deer running full speed from the brush split right between me and my brother. I never saw it and there was only a second or two between us. He saw it and didn't even have time to go for the clutch/brakes.

In these parts, deer a much larger threat than the cagers. They are everywhere...year around.
Don't lose any sleep over it...it's just a damn deer.

Better hope that momma deer doesn't come looking for you. They can get pretty aggressive.

You should try to avoid hitting animals but a general rule of thumb is........
If it's big enough (whatever it is) to come over the bike try to avoid it.
If it's small enough to go under the front tire hang on tight and run over it.

I just finished a two week ride and saw lots of deer and antelope. Luckily none were in the middle of the road. The only good deer is the medium rare venison steak on my plate or maybe the venison sausage on my grill. Just be thankful that you won and the fawn lost. If it had been mama, the resulsts may have been different.

just think if you got hurt & wrecked the bike, all the shyt you would have to go threw to get well & make the bike right...missed work...dealing with the insurance company.....
you would probably be cussin the little bugger for runnen out in front of you.
glad you are OK.

Backstap? Not enough there to remove - probably would have "Dunlop" imprinted on it. Got me a grey squirrel last week. Glad you and that pretty bike are ok.
