lil sturgis ky. bike rally, what happened ?
#21
More or less the same thing that has happened at Sturgis over the years, and many bikers that when to the Sturgis Rally every year back in the 1970's and even the 1980's no longer attend.
It use to be an annual get together of bikers from around the country, very few 'official rules', just a week long party.
Over the years it has turned into nothing more than a commercial circus...
Same thing is going to end up happening at 'Lil Sturgis'..

Rode in to Chillicothe last year for the Grand National Rodeos, big flashing sign that said "NO NUDITY". I wasn't 25 feet inside the camping area and seen nudity. It's just words...makes it look like the event is doing something to curtail the adult party, but no one pays attention to the signs.

Ive been going to Lil Sturigs for a longgg time. I have seen lots of different signs / I highly doubt that it will make any difference. It will be the same as always do what you want with-in reason.

My wife made me stop going

Oh, don't get me wrong. I have not been to many rallies that were family events. I am just saying if you are going to have all of those rules, there is no point in making it an 18 and over only event.

You can bet on the 100° temps, but you gotta run down the highway 5-10 miles to the county line to get an adult beverage. Who's the rocket surgeon who decided to have a biker rally in a DRY county.

No 10's
The ones taking their clothes off for the most part are the ones that really should be leaving them on.
Some of them are hard to look at before dinner!
Having said that, everyone knows what it is, why in the hell would anyone want to take kids there. If is is going to become Disney East what's the point. If you want to have a place the biker's can let their hair down within reason, keep the gates open. If not shut it down!
Was never advertised to be a Mr. Rogers theme park before!

To the best of my knowledge, Little Sturgis has always advertized NO NUDITY,,,never stoped anybody before and it won't this year either. The main thing they are stopping is the burn-outs, very dangerous when you are in bumper-to-bumper and some drunk wants to burn the tire off his bike. Gravel and rubber thrown all over people and their bikes, plus when the bike does grab traction you don't have much control over it. Maybe it's just me, but I've never understood the joy of burning the rubber off a $200 tire.
