Default Heading to B.C.

Will be heading to Vancouver/Victoria from Flint Mi in acouple of weeks visiting family. Although I consider Victoria my home it has been over fifteen years since Ive ridden out there. Any advice on local leos and how they will treat us American tourists with loud pipes especially Saanich and
Victoria. Also N Van. Thanks

If you consider it home, you'll recall the number of people over 60 in the area is significant. With age comes increased sensitivity to noise.

Ride through town rapping the pipes and using a heavy throttle will almost certainly get you pulled over. If you're from out of Province, expect to get written. Argue at all and expect to get an appearance notice forcing you to come back for court.

Behave like an adult and stay off the throttle, act responsible and respectful, and the local police will treat you the same way

Default One more thing about loud pipes

at least here in BC. If our bike is over 93db at 2500 rpm the cop can seize your plate and have your bike towed. It's not often done and not many know about it. Hope you enjoy the ride out here but know that the cops are being a little more vigilant about the noise issues.

Avoid areas like Robson St. in Vancouver and the strip at White Rock beach. If the weather is good you'll find somebody with a sound meter.

Lots of cops but I've never seen anyone pulled over for pipes here in Victoria.

They are starting to push the "D.O.T." helmet rule here so make sure your skid lid is approved! Vancouver is over run with people who's driving habits are scary so be careful there. Vietnam is way safer!
watch out for wildlife on your run into town, we need a cull here to control the population.
Ride safe!
Hatch.

Here we are paying almost twice as much for insurance for our bikes and bicycle riding tree huggers are getting their own lanes downtown, and they don't pay a cent in taxes to ride.
