Traffic light fails to trigger Green for motorcycles
#12
In our state we have too many lights that are not operating properly and will not trip with motorcycle parked. They used to, but because of no maintainance,we all pay. And for as many years after coming to a stop always ride on through.Sounds to me like you have a solid case,it is truly amazing how some LEO's can be so indifferent. But they are human afterall

Why is everybody sticking up for this LEO. Obviously he is an A$$hole. You might and probably will beat it in court, but at what cost? You most likely will have to take off work, spend part of the day at court, and jump through hoops to get rid of it. Like I said, he was and is an A$$hole.

Most officers know the reasons why the lights won't trip for motorcycles. Apparently this particular officer was having a bad day or was cramping...
Seriously, I deal with this every morning on the way to work...at least from my house to the interstate. It sucks. If I leave early enough and no cars around me, I have to run at least one light...

Maybe the technology on this varies from state to state as I have never had a problem triggering a light.
There is another thread here on the forum on this exact same thing.

There are a few lights around here that are like that and I have had to wave cars up real close to me so the light will change. hell the one night I sat there forever, but did not want to make a left on red since there are alot of cops that hide in that area so I backed up a tad and made a right and went around the block. hope this works out for you, but if FL does not have a law that states you can make a left on red then you might be screwed since you did do it.

Contact one of the prosecutors before your court date and see what they might say. You still might have to go plead not guilty in front of the judge, but sometimes it can make the whole process easier in getting it dismissed/reduced. I got my 17yr. old son out of 2 speeding tickets recently this way. They don't want to have to pay the officer to come to court to testify in the event you plead not guilty. Bottom line isn't your guilt or innocence, it's the revenue. Of course, it helps if you get a cool prosecutor like I did.
