I may have a chance to move there from Kansas City....just curious what the roads are like for riding, the scenery, etc. I've been there once but it was years ago. Any input would be appreciated!

I lived in Austin for 17 years. I have also been to K.C. Uhh... you will never look back my friend!

Traffic in the city but the surrounding countryside, especially to the west (Texas Hill Country) is outstanding for riding. Like TXSwede posted; you will never look back.

Go for it! And welcome to Texas.

Like the saying goes - "I wasn't born in Texas, but I moved here as fast as I could".

Of course I live in Oklahoma, so what do I know.

not true about the snow...I just moved from central Texas and it snowed enough to make a snowman last year. Nice area to ride in though, very scenic.

On the day it snows, you can change your oil and tighten up your bolts, cuz you'll need to take a break from all the great riding that you have been doing. LOL.

Maybe some of our Tx buddies will post some R.O.T. pics for those of us that have to work this weekend.

Seriously, some of the best riding within and hour of Austin in all directions.

The Texas Hill Country is called "God's Country" for a reason. Some of the best riding you will ever experience. The entire area around Austin is very biker friendly. Just look up the Republic of Texas Rally (ROT), its going on as we speak.....
