RE: TX riders...
Would love to ride with y'all but I am heading out Fri for a day on the river, a night at Gruene Hall and the next day ridin to Bandera, Leakey, and Lukenbach. If y'all do another ride, drop me a line.
And dont worry about the heat - forecast is for 90 on Sat. This passed on was hot though. Me and the girl did 350 miles Sat. We rode through St Joe onto 677 into OK and on to Turner Falls. I was fine until it was 530pm, passing through Downtown FW on 35 South and started getting tunnel vision. Had to pull over and down more water just minutes from the house after riding all day.
Have fun and give a holler next time.

one of the best i've found is the Ride Texas handbook You can get it online from Ridetexas.com for about $20 I used it in the hill country out by Fredricksburg and found it to be awesome. We rode down some paved ranch roads that made you feel like you were in Irlend, 49 miles ,54 cattle guards no cages in site.Don't know if you've been ,but the hill country is a must. I go at least twice a year.

Dorothy's book on Texas rides is worthwhile reading (heck, I'm slightly biased, as she chose some riders from our group for the cover photo -- even though they are Goldwings...). My wife's observations are that she (Dorothy) includes some things that many books don't include -- the woman's perspective for "other attractions along the trip" kinda thing.... That makes for some additional enjoyment for the passenger portion of my ride.... Yes, it is worthwhile. Not expensive, and easy to follow.
Enjoy!
