Is that a low ape, or a different style? I appreciate the info. I do want to make a change. I love to ride, and it needs to be comfortable.
Thanks again, RD.

I had the disk rupture at C6-C7 in the neck. It was so severe the bones crushed My spinal cord. I have profound nerve damage in the right arm/ shoulder, and severe damage on the left. Long story short, it was a bulging disk, I thought physical therapy and meds could manage, I waited to long.On a very good day I can put on about 75 miles on the bike. The very mild winters here in Phoenix are still to cold, and end up on all the heavy drugs. Then after the weather warms up have to go through the withdraw. I still look at the bright side, I'm alive to see My Wife and enjoy life.Good luck !

I was riding six weeks after my neck surgery- Fusion C-4 through C-6 by route of a C-5 Corpectomy. Fancy schmancy word for removing the body of the vertebrae, putting in a spacer and packing some "bondo" made out of the old vertebrae to grow back. Removed half of the posterior longitudinal ligament, decompressed spine in four places, decompressed four nerve roots in the foramens, removed 9+ years of arthritis.
Sorry to hear you're having some problems, good luck with whatever you decide.

I destroyed my left shoulder while working police dogs on long sends... I needed reconstructive surgery to put all the bones back in place.. they laced everything back up with cadaver ligaments since most of mine were either torn in half or at least partially torn.. I was off the bike for 8 or 9 weeks.. I got back on and haven't looked back.. so far the surgery has been a complete success..

Breaking my back is what got me into the HD lifestyle. Had to sell my Ducati, and found myself more and more riding my Softail. It was easier - broke my back at C5 & C6 back in, oh, 2005. No problems with that riding position now, but probably won't be riding sportbikes ever again.
