There is an O ring that fits over a raised oil channel post that the cylinder mates to when attached to your lower cases. If this is damaged, that is where the seeping of the oil comes from........and by your picture, it is in the correct spot for the leak. It happened to me and I pulled the head and raise the cylinder from the case bore and replaced the O ring. Hope this helps.

If its not under warranty the stealership will charge big $$ just for the labor. Leaking gaskets are a pain in the ****. Usually it's like a $2 gasket and $200 for labor.

eliminate 2 possibles before you do any repairs:

1. rear rocker box gasket leak
2. vent blow by or overfill

My guess: rear jug base gasket

If it was mine, I would let it leak, rather than let them totally tear the motor apart to fix a case gasket. If it was just a cyl. to base gasket, that would be a different story. There is just to much of a chance of something not going back right on a motor that new when you go so far as to split the case. Hope it's something else, and I am guessing it is. Your mileage may very.

Spray the area down with brake cleaner, let dry. apply spray powered foot spray to the area. Ride for a short time, let sit, look for leak.

Update,
Took it in to the new local Indy and he said basically it aint that bad but take it to the dealer so there would be a record of it.

(Big Twin is the new shop, if you are in the area check them out, very friendly, dropped everything to come out and check out my bike!)

After I wash it off it takes a week or so before it looks like the pic.
