Hey anything is worth what someone is willing to pay...
Ya never know, some fat wallet might come in and say, "I'll take it".
I'm sure it happens...

I think the days of paying way over MSRP are numbered. People just don't want to pay that anymore.

In 2008 I was in Seacoast HD (NH) looking at a new RK that was priced a few grand over MSRP. They offered $6000 for my trade. (2006 FXCDI) and would not budge on either number. This particular dealer rings a bell every time a sale is made. That damn bell was rung 3 or 4 times in the hour that I was in there. I knew they had me so I left.

A year later at Nashua HD (also NH) I bought a 2009 RK for MSRP plus $8400 for the same 2006 Dyna.

Find a new dealer and have patience. You'll get your price if it is a fair one.

Good Luck

dmacx,

Boy, you got a decent deal in Nashua. I can't get them down to MSRP straight up, they want something on top of it. Seacoast is crazy too. I buy at Kelly's.

Bottom line, if any of you thought you could sell your bike for $3k more than it's current "worth", would you?
