Default HELP!! HALf Helmet Turmoil & eXpense

Hey all, I am looking for some of your expertise in a bad way.
In the last two months I have purchased an HD Rally Rider 1/2 Helmet(98200-04), an HD Bernie 1/2 Helmet(98338-09vm) and for my wife an HD Skyline 1/2 Helmet(98238-08vw).....
All three of these sit much higher on our heads than the look we were both trying to achieve.
Can I get some advice from you guys and gals on what company makes the lowest (or Lower) profile DOT approved rally 1/2 helmets??
The ZOX 1/2 looks pretty low but after throwing down 500 large on ebay helmets that we likely won't wear I figured I should ask the masses!

The three helmets above identify the style we like however we are hopelessly chasing the Soup Bowl look...lol

Thanks All

I think most DOT 1/2 helmets will have some type of mushroom look to them. I just picked up the GMAX GM55 1/2 helmet and really like it. It even has a flip down smoked visor. Pretty cool.

yep +1, I bought a nice carbon fiber 1/2 helmet that fits the way I like, but it took a while to find one. Most of the novelty 1/2 helmets will sit on your head the way you like, but you're substituting looks for safety.

I have tried lots and lots of DOT half helmets, and overall they make you look like a Super Mario character, even if you find one with a little lower fit. On the other hand novelty helmets provide the same protection as a ball cap. I guess it depends on your priorities. I just went back to a 3/4 DOT with a faceshield because of the added protection and versatility. It makes me look like the Great Gazoo, and I don't care. Gazoo was actually pretty cool!

I bet in that slow-motion split second before impact we'd all wish we were wearing full leathers and full face helmets...

I'll looked at lots of DOT 1/2 helmets before buying the HCI DOT 100. It doesn't give me a shroom head but I'm also extremely good looking so any helmet would work with me. lol

So tired of looking like Rick Moranis from Spaceballs when I had my German on. Had the same problem ... I think the Vega’s sit the lowest of the 1/2 shell DOT's. Also I was wearing it so when I went down the highway it was already in the "blown back" position. Pulled it down to where it is supposed to sit (1 1/2) above the eyebrows and now even on the highway she stays put.

I confirm what others have already said about the Vega 1/2 helmets. They fit great and are low profile.
