Imagine my surprise yesterday when a box arrived from ACC Helmets..with the helmet I sent in over 5 weeks ago for a refund.

Attached was a short note that read "Advanced Carbon Composites has come to the point of not being able to provide recall refunds to our loyal customers. We are very sorry for any inconvenience this has caused you."

Nice!!

So for those of you are still waiting...this may be your future as well.

 

Was it a voluntary recall or a Gov mandated recall. for a safety item didn't think a company had a choice on a recall. Imagine if Toyota published a memo like that?

 

That's too bad. I didn't think they would be able to continually refund folks with almost no money coming in. They are probably moments away from closing the doors.

 

I recall, no pun intended, their website saying it was an agreement with the government in some manner. Not sure how that impacts their obligations. Seeing as how the only product they sell now, is kayak helmets, I agree the days are numbered.

Guess it's time for me to throw away the (now useless) return label they sent me.

 

Wasn't such a good deal on a good helmet was it.

 

I wonder how long they'll be returning helmets before they don't have money for that and just pitch the ones that were returned to them.

 

I finally bumped into someone yesterday that had an ACC lid....I tried it and it fit like a glove.....comfortable yet not bulky....what a shame.
