In Ga. I wear a nov, outstate a half. Maybe that's part of it. The wife bought one of those FF's; she burns up in it and is afraid it's going to break her neck because it's so heavy (she does have a thin neck) - and went back to her half. I don't even like the weight of my cop half helmet, but probably because I'm used to the nov lid.

This saturday I am going to drill new holes and raise my shield two inches just to see how it works before I buy a new 20 or 21 in shiels.
I bought the HD Tall replacement shield & just took the stock king size apart & installed the tall. It's like riding in a cocoon now. I don't even use earplugs with this setup.

I can tell the HD wind deflectors keep more wind off me as I can feel more engine heat at low speeds.

I think they even help a bit with rain. I got caught in some rain earlier today and although it wasn't a downpour, I didn't seem to get as wet as if I'd been on my Sportster.

That engine heat would be enough for me to REMOVE the deflectors! Georgia isn't kind to us in June-Sept.
Looking at your sig, I think you'd better get used to seeing other bikes with events, rides, and so forth, because it's happening more often - rides out of dealerships, owners clubs, RC's and all. I've even been invited to ride with the BMW's and the Lead Wingers despite my Harley.
It's all good, man.

I'm sure I probably get buffetting too but I either don't know what it is or it doesn't bother me.

Had the tall windshield and still had problems with the wind from the bottom, also, during the early morning hours, the windshield would fog suddenly when going thru certain areas and I could not reach over to clear it. Got a shorter windshield so I could see over the top of it and now I have buffetting. Traded one problem for another. But, I would much prefer to see than not buffet.

I have the fangs on my Heritage as my previous bike also, very little buffeting for me with them. I leave them on year round here in Oh.

The stock "shorty" windshield was too short for me. I ate way too many bugs. Also there was moderate buffeting. I put on a 22" king size windshield and my protein intake dropped drastically, but the buffeting was still there. I put on the HD deflectors and the buffeting was cut in half. They make a noticeable, positive difference in my ride quality.

I have the same problem with ny 010 Road King. Anyone have a picture with the wind deflectors on a RK? Are they easy to install and do they interfer with the quick release windshield?
