Advance Carbon Helmet Scam!!!

I was on the front end of this one, and acted quickly, so I got my check a long time ago. It cleared no problem.
As a side note, I used the money to buy a toy boat and a bullet proof vest. The jury is still out on whether that was a good deal for me...

I used to race R/C nitro powered boats. They were 2-4 foot long and had speeds from 50-90 real mph. Some hulls were made of wood & epoxy, some fiber glass cloth & resins & they both took a beating. We decided Kevlar would be lighter & stronger so we built a couple of tunnel hulls. They didn't last long at all. They disintegrated on impact when the water was choppy. So much for Kevlar.
And you formed the hulls under the proper pressure & heat range?

ACC knowingly sold helmets as DOT-compliant that weren't. It wasn't just the puncture tests they failed, they failed at least one of every battery of tests except for retention (the strap stays on) and labeling (it has the proper stickers). Everyone would be screaming bloody murder if a pharmaceutical company had pulled the crap that Head Trip did. Anyone who bought a DOT helmet from them was lied to and defrauded. As soon as I heard about the recall, my helmet went back. I got my check and cashed it immediately.

Because the foam inside wasn't thick enough. It had nothing to do with the shell itself. You can stop calling him names now, since Kevlar had nothing to do with it, and your anecdotal evidence goes against everything we know about Kevlar. For all we know, you lacked the proper knowledge to build something like you did out of it in the first place.

I'm not a materials engineer, but I'm willing to bet a carbon fiber shell is stronger than fiberglass or plastic of similar weight.
Heck just put an iron pot on your head and you'll be safe.
BTW, aren't military helmets made of kevlar?

I live in a no helmet law state, so i kept my acc helmet. I had it for over 3 yrs. and I like the way it fits. So I guess if I'm riding down the road and I get speared in the head it's just my time.
