It's my guess that you in all reality have never owned any vehicle at all if you have never gotten a screw or nail in your tire.Where do you usually ride or drive? In the freakin air? On a roof? Inside a Wharehouse? On a lake?GEEZ.

Seriously! Just look a little harder, you will find a heck of a lot worse things.I once ran over a piece of car leaf spring while in a turn,it flipped up and cracked both inner and outer primary covers on my Electraglide. Now that day Sucked a big one.

I agree. T think this is exactly what happens. There's so much debris on the road, and a certain percentage gets flipped up by the front tire, and a smaller percentage just happens to be in the right position for penetrating the rear tire.

I've had lots of rear flats from screws and nails (even finish nails)....and never a front flat. In fact, the only time I've seen front flats is when somebody rides a tire way beyond its wear limits....though I HAD an acquaintance that hit a good sized rock (he was on a group ride riding tight and didn't see the rock) which flatted his front tire, throwing him immediately out of control and into a rock wall at the road's edge, where he died from head injuries.

Don't pull over in a breakdown lane just beyond a bridge... trust me. You may end up broke down.
...just when I just know I know everything...along comes another tip...
I'll be copy and pasting this one to my RC website - good stuff.

Me too. It does make sense, but I would have never thought about it. I guess the first couple hundred yards would be a mess.
