Default Help w/ my rear master cylinder

I need to make amove w/ my rear brakes. I am pretty sure I need to rebuild my M/C. Problem is I have been stumbling on it. I have dealer phobia so thats out.

2001 Heritage Softail Classic FLSTC

I know once I have the parts in my hand it'll get done. I've been web browsing but feel apprehension about buying... I just dont want to buy the wrong stuff and tear my bike apart get stuck waiting on parts.

Can you guys help me pick the right kit at a reasonable cost?

I found this kit but appears pricy. Somewhere down the line somebody told me $12 in parts. So i must not be looking in the right places.

Also,, somebody told me I need to bore out my cylinder w/ a honing tool? So its not as simple as pull out the old parts and re-assemble w/ new?

I dunno about the parts you need, but Dennis Kirk is the place to go for it. As far as honing out the master cylinder, I have never done it, but I have honed out many wheel cylinders, and it was a piece of cake .

The $12 in parts that someone told you about was probably just the o-rings and seals, the kit you linked to looks as if it is the complete rebuild with a new piston, according to the fitment guide it is correct for your bike.
