Calgary, 09 Ultra
$718 including HOG discount. $1000 deductible, full coverage. Elite Insurance and the broker is Dalton Timmis Insurance also known as Home For Chrome. That is the over 45 age rate and I have had no claims.

My insurance is with Elite Insurance and the broker is Dalton Timmis also known as Home For Chrome. I have full coverage with $1000 deductible and my premium that I renewed in Febuary was $741 including the HOG discount of 5% and for riders over 45 with no claims. I have also heard Jevco gives good rates as well.

Just googled Primmum and checked their online quote. Pretty extensive application, but the quote was $1633 with a ridiculously high $2500 deductible for comp & collision. I'm thinking the postal code is a killer here, obtaining insurance seems to be a lot like real estate and buying a home...location, location, location!

These guys quoted me the best rate and you can get full replacement coverage from them too. I'm currently with TD and I'm paying a little over 7oo bones a year for full coverage.

Im in Halifax, All State is by far the cheapest I could find. $780.00 for a 2010 Wide Glide. Only stipulation is that they do not do stand alone Motorcycle insurance and there auto insurance rates suck. Still when it was all added up it was a really good rate. TD insurance was the next best rate I could find at about $2000.00. No comparission really.
The only other thing with All State is that you must have had Motorcycle Insurance for at lest one full year prior. I did not. I have had my license for for a couple of years but I only had insurance for about 9 or 10 monts. They over looked this and insured me anyway.

You will find that there is quite a variation across Canada as insurance is a bit of a provincial thing. Here in NB, I have my 09 Ultra insured with RBC and pay about $740 per year for full coverage with $1500 deductible.
Good luck in finding some better rates in your area...

Thanks for the replies. To jeffbarb17, I am also with Aviva Elite (Roadwings). Have you gotten an increase this season with your renewal? How can they justify such a difference between your quote of $900 and mine of $1500? I have a clean record and zero claims thru any insurer ever, and am also in the Toronto area. I am going to give Riders Plus a call on Mon. morning.

Any of you Cdns run into this crap now where bikes are no longer insured for full comprehensive coverage, or "all perils" as the insurance companies call it, but rather just for "specified perils".........being fire & theft? Collision coverage is no problem, but full comp seems to be expensive, if even offered.

full coverage for my scoot, Toronto area, a lot of years riding was under 900 with RidersPlus.
Don't look for rates across the country unless you are moving there. Areas have different history for claims. Rates are based on claims for areas.
Ridersplus has been excellent for me.
If you are in the Toronto area, give them a call or do an online quote.
