Does that stuff at the crossing belong to the city or the railroad? If it is the railroad, call them and get the name and number to the railroad claim agent. If you could show that this is because of lack of their maintenance likely they will pay for it. I would try this before paying a lawyer. (At first he won't be real willing but play hard ball.) Worth a try.

Those personal injury lawyers will take on just about anything and don't get paid "unless we get money for you". So call them up, and give her a go. The lawyer will tell you to say that you're scared to ride because of what COULD have happened, but play it up. Pain and suffering is measured in $$ and... oh, what you must be going through.

You'd be lucky to get anyone to help you on that big ole bolt installation. I agree with Country bumkin. extract the bolt, plug it, patch it and tube it. It will serve you will. However, you probably won't get a Harley dealer or most any bike repair shop to do the plug/patch thing. Too much liability. Review the above discussion and you will see why they won't do it. Glad you made it home.
