Do you ride for the speed??

Even when I was young, a long, long time ago, speed wasn't my thing.
If left alone on the road, whether in a bike or car, the speed limit is ok with me..If pushed, I'll do 5 to 10 over and that's it..If need be, I'll find a good place to pull over and let people go by. I just never felt it was right to crank on things and thereby put others in danger. I don't have the right to do so. So far, it's kept me upright , fairly safe, and money in my pocket that didn't go to a courthouse.

I use to ride very fast alot, but now I have slowed down, but I love to crack on the bikes and feel the G's pull me back. I ride becasue it's over all fun and makes me happy.

My riding style usually is <10miles over speed limit depending on road/weather conditions.
I don't look down on others that crank er up. The only thing that gets me is when I see the rocket crowd pull wheelies going down the road while running together with others. You know stupid is stupid does.

I ride for acceleration, not really for speed. Of course, my old Ultra isn't quick like a crotch rocket, but it has enough kick to make accelerating from a light or stop sign fun. Once I hit the speed limit I stay around 5 over except for the occassional blowing out of the carbon build up. I'm not really in any hurry most of the time.

I do 10 or less over in both my car and my motorcycle. If anything, I'm a little slower on the bike, just because I'm relaxing and having a good time and I don't get any extra fun out of a little more speed - just no thrill in it that I'm aware of.
