My summer is your winter
All,
During the winter times, i read many threads about winter storage and people up north not riding during the winter. I live in texas and my stoy is different.
I have a tendency to not ride during the summer and if I do it has to be really early morning or at night. Simply the heat and I do not mix.
So today I went to the dealership and bought me a battery tender because it has been almost a month since I rode and I figure I wont be doing much riding for the next four months. We have temperatures in the 90s right now with hummidty is definetely not a good feeling for me. I truly admire people riding in this heat but then again, I didnt see them doing a lot of riding the winter and fall (even though our winters are not as brutal as the ones up north).
Any if you out there do not ride during the summer?

Sheeet! I live in Arkysaw. The heat and humidity coupled with traffic, if your in it, makes riding quite unbearable at times. I have already thought about this, and have already began altering my riding times and or places. Just the other night, I started doing hundred mile cruises after Eight or Ten O'clock! Makes for a much cooler trip and less traffic.

Sitting up here in Calgary with a head cold from my morning commutes last week, froze my butt off. We get real hot weather about 2 days a year, so not to worried about it. I'll take your weather anytime.

+1 on what Beerguz said! I'm in Calgary too, and its the end of friggin May and I'm STILL riding to work in the morning with the electric jacket liner and electric gloves on to keep from freezing to death. 30F this morning...that's just uncalled for!

Granted I don't live out there, but I have been in Albuquerque NM during July (use to vacation there every year for 25 days) I would ride my Uncles Honda PC800 anywhere I needed to go, now the weather did not bother me but it would have I guess if I had to deal with it day in and day out all summer long. Here the only time I park my bike is if the roads are iced over.
