Never dealt with DRVTWIN, but he seems like a stand up guy from what I have read. However, I have had a few dealings with e-bay. The e-bay attraction only lasts so long, and that is until you find yourself being the 1 in 1000 that gets screwed.

That's why it pays to shop. I have done business with Shawn at DrVTWIN and couldn't be happier with my transactions. At the same time I have bought several items on on ebay that have worked out as well, some not so well. Main problem with Ebay has been product quality versus my brand name expectation. As far as customer and technical service I have never had and issue w/ DrVTWIN. Try getting Technical support on an Ebay purchase for your bike....you'll die trying. Each serves their purpose. I would be crazy to slam either.

I buy where I can usually get the best price period. Simple as that.
Gotta give credit where credit is due though.
cmiller at least has the stones to say how he feels regardless of how it turns out.

so you overpaid and aren't happy about it? how long did the company take to ship your parts (was it ridiculously long, or just a few days longer than your ebay parts)? Unless you contacted drvtwin and attempted to resolve privately with bad results, not a very 'classy' move to try and hurt their business

Seeing as you sent me a PM on Saturday night at 9PM my time I'd say I went out of my way to respond to you. The thing that really kills me about ebay is that there is no way to get in touch with anyone most of the time. Sit and wait is all you can do. If you are waiting for something, call us and find out when it will be in. We will be more than happy to go out of our way to accomodate you (the customer) as you are our lives blood. Pricing is pricing. You get what you ask for. We greatly appreciate your order and we are sorry you do not feel that way.

We are not a Harley dealership we are a small independent shop, therefore we only get so much of a discount on Harley parts. We do not get them for the same price as dealerships do. Not even close. Customer service is a tough business as what upsets some people is not an issue for others. We provide the best prices and customer service that we possibly can.

Here I sit on Sunday morning at 6:46am responding to your post about our "poor customer service." Once again, I don't know too may people who will work at all on Sunday. I treat people here on the forums as my own family as I have met many of my friends here and have had so many positive experiences.

We are sorry that no once called to inform you that the items were on back order. I do have to say if I order something from the dealer, they never even call me when my parts come in.

I wish you well with you future purchases where ever you choose to buy them and thank you for giving us a chance. Enjoy the ride and keep the shiny side up.

Drew

I like to "share the wealth" when it comes to buying m/c parts & accessories. Haven't dealt w/Dr. V-Twin, but he always seems to be willing to make a gr8 deal. Sent me an exhaust quote within the hour of responding to a post. I'm sure I'll throw some business their direction...

Also, understand we're now into heavy riding season so there will be supply/demand back-logs. I've been in my HD shop three weeks in a row to get parts they had to order. Sometimes we just have to have a bit of patience (thank you Guns-n-Roses)...
