Do I really need to wait to 1000 miles to dyno tune?
Hey everybody - I'm super excited to do a Stage 1 upgrade on my 2010 FLSTFB and have it dyno tuned. But I have a question. Do I really need to wait to 1000 miles? I understand break-in, but 1K seems excessive. The lead tech at my local dealer quoted break-in and the fact they would make multiple runs @ WOT to RPM limit. I say "So what?" As crazy as this sounds, with 3 little boys, Little League, Kiddie Soccer, Boy Scouts, and a super short commute to work, it might take me another several months to roll 1K.

If it were my bike, I would wait. They run the crap out of it on the dyno. Lemme have it for a couple of weeks, I would easily put 1000 miles on it.

done it both ways,,, wait till the 1k and on the last one did it before picking up, brand new.
stg1, cams and dyno... the one that was done when new seemed faster....broke in on the dyno.
