Battery powered soldering gun?
#2
There may be one that's battery powered, never seen one, but maybe. An alternative is a butane soldering iron. I had one at work years ago that worked great till someone decided they wanted it worse than I did. Filled it with the pressurized butane cans. It was about the size of an oversized ink pen. Would get the job done and quick. Hope that helps......

Before electricity soldering irons were heated with a flame.
I've got one in the shop. It has a wooden handle & a pyramid tip.
You could make one out of a wooden handled screw driver.
I expect batteries would drain pretty quickly.

i've tried a couple of battery powered soldering irons and they
1) go through batteries like a vibrator at a lesbian convention
2) don't make enough heat to solder anything much bigger than telephone wires . forget about the wires going to your headlight or anything larger
butane is your best bet for portable
or you could get a 12v dc to 120v ac converter and run a real soldering iron off your battery for a while

Butane. I used to use them installing cell phones and radios in cars, perfect. Torches are good too but can be a bit much depending on what you are soldering.

I have a Wahl battery powered soldering gun that I have had since the 70's. I do not know if they make them anymore, but it worked very well. Instant hot, and would do the same job a 110V Weller would do. It has nicad rechargable batteries, and would solder quite a few joints before needing a recharge. I have replaced the batteries a few times over the years, but all in all a good unit with replacable tips.
Just checked; Just google Wahl soldering iron. They still make them.

Actually those are called a soldering copper. They work but not as good as the butane ones. The copper pyramid tip holds heat for quite a while, A screw driver won't work near as well if at all.
