true, but you have to admit the mindset of a person buying a rice rocket is different than that of a cruiser or touring owner

There seems to be dumb-assery on both sides of the equation.

'Dallas police said that Bellard was not at a cross walk and failed to yield to the motorcycle'

As clicker01 said, there's something not right about this story.

How many sportbikes doing wheelies at 70 miles an hour are utterly silent??

If you heard a bike wound up and screaming down the street, do you habitually step out into the street in front of it without looking? It isn't like the bike had some cloaking device or was in stealth mode.

I've seen too many oblivious citizens step out in front of 4000+ lb moving vehicles to think that some of them aren't paying any attention or are on the phone or are simply out to lunch. The rider was obviously irresponsible, but so was the pedestrian.

Sorry that people died, and the rider was a tool, but people need to be responsible for their own well-being. If you frequently step out into traffic without looking or being aware of screaming engines around you, eventually you're going to meet some moron doing a wheelie at 70 mph.

Was it really an accident, or just a couple of really stupid moves? Just wondering.

Yeah too many damn people walking around these days with their ipods full blast not paying attention. Probably never heard the bike coming.
