Default Interview with HD CEO Kieth Wandell

The local rag printed this on Saturday. It's pretty interesting, whether you agree with what he's doing or not. There sure are alot of haters in the comments.

We all know they need to do something, but losing half the workforce at the York factory seems .

well after reading that you start to understand the quick dismantling of buell. from the article "We were selling seven, eight, maybe 10 (Buell) bikes a day worldwide" OUCH 7 Buell's a day worldwide? amazing HD kept them around for as long as they did.

I love the comments. Funny that more then half & especially the negative ones read like they never owned an HD. So what are they commenting for? Some people just love to bitch & bash. They must be very lonely. Please, someone gave them a wave!

Very informative HD news article. First time we've heard from the new CEO. Nothing like being in the cross hairs of workers, loyal customers, and a Board of Directors trying to make a buck and keeping the company profitable. Just don't send the work overseas Mr. Wandell.

Good article and interview. They gave the Buell line ample opportunity to develop a market niche and become profitable. It didn't work, moving on was inevitable.

Hmmm. The rock or the hard place. If the work doesn't go "overseas" nobody will afford them after a while (lots can't now). If they send the work "overseas", lots of people who would have bought them, won't.

Just like on Rowan and Martins Laugh In (remember that????) they're F$#%ed by the Fickle Finger of Fate.

Its been posted here before, its a terrific interview and the guy is doing a tremendous job. Painful cuts are necessary but painful. No way to avoid pain.

I've said it before, he is the reason that Harley is still an independent company, so we as Harley owners have a lot to thank him for.

Challenge for him and the company going forward is to produce and sell relevant bikes.
