there's really no pro/cons with running any brand of synth. synth is better than dino oil because of higher heat resistance which makes sense to use in an air cooled motor. I personally have been using Mobil 1 15/50 for years in mine with no probs. you can get it in 5qt. jugs at Malwart for about $22. I suppose if you live in really hot areas you should probably use 20/50 weight although I dont know of any "good" deals on it. It usually runs 9-10 dollars per quart which I think is insane.
You'll probably get a hundred responses on which synth is the best but the realllity of it is they're all good and you wont be able to tell the difference.

The consensus is that Mobil 1 and amsoil 20W-50 are the best. Much benefit running syn in these hot bikes as well.

All are ok if changed regulaly though so make you choice and go with it.

Suggest you look at the oil related section and yoiu will have hours reading on the topic.

But to each his onw.

There's an entire Oil Section here on the forum with plenty of info.

Why would you say use 20W/50 if living in a hot climate? The 50 wt in the 15W/50 that you use is the same "50 weight" that you use. The 15W or 20W is the Winter weight. W=Winter.

I looked at all the threads here and went with Mobil 1. Getting Amsoil was a pain, and many places had the Mobil 1. I have run it for a few months with no problems in my 05 Electra Glide. I also put it in the trans and their Mobil 1 gear oil in the chain case. All good.

Buy whatever is local to you - Amsoil, Royal Purple, Mobil1, Redline, etc. All good stuff...
