Nice 1972 FLH. Even if it is AMF. keep it original. Some thing like that is hard to find now days. All old is new again. Groovy.

Of modern stock ones, I'd say the fatboy wings. What I really like is something that looks like the 1920's or so - something that looks like a sign painter with a brush did it. If it involves chrome or is raised, it sucks.

What year was the Harley #1 emblem on the Sportys? I believe real early seventies correct? I love that emblem to this day and immediately think of good ol' Evel Kneivel hucking through the air on that Sporty. If I ever do a custom paint job then the #1 is getting put on the tank...until then I like the HD with the wings on both sides of it.

 

Painted/decal on name

No emblem to catch clothes/was rag on, pain to wash dirt out between letters, no trapping wax in the nooks and cranies.

 

for me its the firefighter special edition badge. cooler than the other side of the pillow.

I love the old ones, but some of the new painted ones are pretty cool too.

I can say for sure that I absolutely hate the tank emblem in the top row middle (75146 at the bottom) and don't everyone say they never had one because they were all over the place. I'm a simple guy and I like the simple Harley Davidson logos in block letters like 75144. I also like the wing eagle decal (75149) at the bottom. I had that one on my 84 FX and I always liked it.
