I made a big jump in checking the family history this past year. I can now trace -- on my grandfather's side (Bertram Jewell, aka bjewell) the family back to 857 in the Kingdom of England up to 1631 whern they got thrown out of Massachusetts for "witchcraft and molesting men." They ended up in Long Island New York.

Please bear with me here. I am a direct decendant of Sir John Hawkins. He was first cousin to Sir Francis Drake. So? Well old Sir John invented what was known as the triangle slave trade between "Guniea," Jamaica and New England. I'm also the designee from my floor at the diversity team meetings and they have a geneological meeting once a month. I don't bring my relatives up at that time...

I have a flag decal on my helmet, deliberatly put on UPSIDE DOWN. I did this durring the Cheney Regime, when our freedoms were high jacked for oil co. profits... the jack *** puppet we had as comm in chief deserved no less... I'd gladly fight for this country when are cause is just, but this blind patriotism so prevelent by people who swallow what the history books are filled with makes me want to puke. Remember, history is written by the victors.

 

You do realize that Obama has been in charge over a year now and you still wear it upside down. Some initiative you've got there. I'd rather have patriotism than your sense of inaction.

 

How do you know what my action or inaction is? And what's your definition of patriotism my friend? I will say this, I'm proud of our current president, something I couldn't say for the previous 8 years .

The flag should only be displayed upside down as a distress signal. If you displayed it that way because of Cheney why didn't you take action and display it properly when Obama took over? Do you still distressed? I am proud of both our previous and current president for different reasons. The most important part of my definition of patriotism is that it is a verb not a noun. Patriotism is best expressed through some type of service to our nation or communities. The community and country becomes better though our collective service. I express it by serving my nation for the last 21 years as a Green Beret. What is your definition?
