OK. Thanks for the replies. You guys are allright! I love the wide spectrum of responses you get on this forum on any subject. There is always someone that gives a response that is completely not what you expected and gives you a whole other way of looking at the subject. That's why I post. Thanks again!

4 yrs and 25k miles, my boot has a little mark on it at the point that touches the pad, I don't like or use the heel shifter.
Just touch up with leather dye if it brothers Ya..
If it tearing Ur boot,, I'd look at the shifter cover for burrs or get a boot with better leather.

A little shoe polish should help. When I ride to work I wear the boots at work, I don't care as much now but back when I was still in the service I'd just use a little shoe polish once I got to work.

Man, this thread made me laugh. You guys are brutal.
I don't have much of a problem with the topic as I wear steel toed boots. Even if it did wear some I don't think I would care.
